mera pyar

Birth Name:
Height: 5' 10" (1।78 m)
Dilip Kumar is considered to be one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema। Starting his career in 1944, he has starred in some of the biggest commercially successful films from the late 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1980s। His performances have been regarded as the epitome of emoting in Indian Cinema। He was the first actor to receive a Filmfare Best Actor Award and holds the record for most number of Filmfare Awards won for that category। Though he has done all kinds of films - he balanced a wide variety of roles such as the intense Andaz (1949) with the swashbuckling Aan (1952), the dramatic Devdas (1955) with the comical Azaad (1955) and the historical romance Mughal E Azam (1960) with the social Ganga Jamuna (1961). In the 1970s roles dried up for Kumar and after 1976 he left films for a five year break. In 1981 he returned with a character role in the blockbuster film Kranti and continued his career playing central character roles in hits such as Shakti (1982), Karma (1986) and Saudagar (1991). He has retired from the Indian Film Industry in 1998.He was born Muhammad Yusuf Khan in Qissa Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar Pakistan in a Pashtun family of twelve children. His father Ghulam Sarwar was a fruit merchant and owned large orchards in Peshawar and Devlali in Maharashtra near Mumbai. The family relocated to Mumbai in 1930s and in the early 1940s Yusuf Khan moved to Pune and started off with his canteen business and supplying dry fruits. There he was spotted by a leading actress of those years Devika Rani who was also the wife of the founder of Bombay Talkies Himanshu Rai and helped his entry into the Bollywood film industry. She also gave him the screen name of Dilip Kumar. His first film Jwar Bhata, was released in 1944 which went unnoticed. In 1947 he shot to prominence with the film Jugnu which was his first major hit. In 1949, he co-starred with Raj Kapoor in the romantic melodrama film Andaz, which went to become a huge success and made him a star. Throughout the 1950s he was one of the biggest stars of Bollywood along with Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand. He became known for playing tragic roles in popular films such as Deedar (1951), Amar (1954), Devdas (1955) and Madhumati (1958) which earned him the title of "Tragedy King".He was also successful in playing lighthearted roles such as playing a swashbuckling peasant in Aan (1952) and a comic role in Azaad (1955). In 1960 he starred in the historical film Mughal-e-Azam which is as of 2008, the second highest grossing film in Hindi film history inflation adjusted in which he played the role of the Mughal crown-prince Jehangir the son of Akbar. In 1961 he produced and starred in the hit Ganga Jamuna in which he and his Real Life brother Nasir Khan played the title roles. Despite the film success he did not produce any film after this. Dilip had a narrow brush with international fame in 1962 when British director David Lean offered him the role of Sherif Ali in his 1962 blockbuster, Lawrence of Arabia. However Kumar declined the part. The role eventually went to Omar Sharif the Egyptian actor. After a brief period of box office flops in the mid 1960s, he bounced back when he played a dual role of twins separated at birth in the film Ram Aur Shyam (1967) which was one of the biggest box office hits of the year. The success of Ram Aur Shyam spawned a number of remakes and imitators. In the 1970s Kumar acted in fewer films as newer actors such as Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan had began to take the spotlight. Many of Kumar's films failed at the box office during this period and after the release of his 1976 film Bairaag in which he played triple roles, he took a five year break from acting. He made a comeback in 1981 with the multi-starrer Kranti which was the biggest hit of the year. He went onto play character roles as an elderly family patriarch or a police officer in a string of box office hits including Shakti (1982) in which he starred alongside the reigining superstar of the time Amitabh Bachchan , Vidhaata (1982), Mashaal (1984) and Karma (1986). In his last major successful film, Saudagar (1991) he appeared alongside another legendary actor Raaj Kumar after three decades since they last appeared together in Paigham (1959). In 1992 he won the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1996 he was attached to make his directorial debut with a film titled Kalinga but the film was shelved. In 1998 he made his last film appearance to date in the box office flop Qila where in a rare form he played a villainous role. He has since retired from the film industry although he has continued to receive film offers in recent years but the films have either been shelved due to his indifferent health or because he refused them.Dilip Kumar's younger brother Nasir Khan was also an actor and appeared opposite him in Ganga Jamuna (1961) and Bairaag (1976) as well as some other films in the late 1940s and 1950s. His career was not as successful however. He died in 1974. Nasir Khan's son Ayub Khan is also currently an actor in the industry. Nasir Khan's wife was 1950s actress Begum Para who recently made a comeback to films after 50 years in the film Saawariya in 2007.Dilip Kumar married actress and "beauty queen" Saira Banu in 1966 when he was aged 44 and she was 22. At the time, gossip columnists predicted doom for the high-profile couple, but the union has been one of the longest lasting marriages in Bollywood.IMDb Mini Biography By: Aryaan Ansari

It is one of my favourite nazm by famous poet FIRAQ GORAKHPURI .I am posting it to my friend. Hope it will be liked.

Bahut udaas hai ye ghar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Tum aa gaye to shab-e-gham ke puchh gaye aansu
Yahan na tha koi din-bhar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Abhi to aaye ho dekha nahi hai jebhar ke
Ye aarzoo hai ki uthkar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Hue ho mujhse juda jab zara tavakkuf se
Sambhal gaya hun main aksar, abhi yahan se na jao;
[tavakkuf = late]

Na mil sakenge ye gauhar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

[damon = price] [gauhar = pearl]

Wo aarzuein jo vabasta tumse hain unko
Chale ho chorke kis par, abhi yahan se na jaao;

[vabasta = related]

Vafure-gham se jinhe neend aa gayi thi kabhi
Wo yaadein jaag uthi sokar, abhi yahan se na jaao;
[vafure-gham = excess of sadness]

Ruke raho nigahe-neem-ba se kuch main bhi
Bana lun apna muqaddar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

[nigahe-neem-ba = half-closed eyes] [muqaddar = luck]

Tumhare paas ye andaza ho raha hai mujhe
Ki mera haal hai behtar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Abhi to soye chiragon ne aankh kholi hai
Abhi to jaagte hain ghar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Ruko-ruko ki padi hai abhi to raat tamaam
Bahut udaas hai manzar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

[manzar = scene]

Ye dil chiraag jale se tumhe, jahan bhi raho
Pukarta hai barabar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Hamari raat chali jaayegi tumhare saath
Hamari raat ko lekar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Bahut ruke meri khatir ye sochta hun ki ab

Ye dil chiraag jale se tumhe, jahan bhi raho
Pukarta hai barabar, abhi yahan se na jaao;

Hamari raat chali jaayegi tumhare saath,

SHADOWS

Such nights have also passed

when your memory did not flare,

pain quivered in the heart

but no complaint to share।

Every sin appears to the fore

like dark rocks in a row,

there is neither a plea to break the rocks,

nor seek release, not move to go.

Such nights have also passed

when on your ways, everywhere

there were shadows, here and there,

leaping up and down,

down and up.

You weren’t there, there were shadows like you,

shadows in dance all about,

I wasn’ there, there were shadows like me,

shadows in termor,

shadows and shadows, shadows of pathways.

Such nights have also passed

when your memory did not flare.

STREET HAWKER

Street hawkers are very common in India. They can be found here, there and everywhere. There is hardly any village, town or a city without street hawkers. Their numbers in towns is greater than that in villages. They go from one town to another town and street for selling their various articles.
A street hawker comes with his basket full of fruits, vegetables, sweets, and articles of general use. He may come with a big bundle of clothes or shawls on his back. He brings the bazaar to our door-steps and makes life easy and convenient. He is welcomed by all, particularly by ladies, old men and children. He has no fixed hours. If he is there in this colony in the morning, he will be in the next street in the evening. He has his own way of selling goods and calling the customers.

He works very hard to earn his living. His income is meager. He carries his heavy load either on his head or on a bicycle. His absence is very much missed by the customers. They usually wait for his arrival for making their purchases. He is often on good terms with his customers as he is a daily visitor. A thing can be returned to him if found defective or not satisfying. He willingly exchanges things bought from him when found defective. He tries hard to satisfy his customers. The conditions of the hawkers are very bad. They somehow manage to keep their body and soul together. They are also exploited by policemen municipal authorities and other officials.

The hawkers are liked by the children very much. They make some of the children their fovorite in every mohalla. Some hawkers go to certain lanes daily.

Thousands and thousands of poor people earn their daily bread by hawking. It is a very useful self-employment which can be started with a very small amount of money. There is no harm in earning one's bread and butter by hawking. Government should try to help them by giving loans on cheap rates of interest. Their lot should be improved as citizens of the country.

Polythene Waste Disposal

Polythenes are frequently used in India as a packing materials. Polythenes were introduced in India as a subsitute to the paper bags which were initially used for packing especially the light commondities. As a result polythene wastes, this has indeed been a hazard to the Indian environment but first, the description of this substance.
Polythene bags can best be defined as a non-biodegradable substance that is used by the majority of Indians as packing materials. Despite the fact that they are cheap as well as light, they are hazardous in the following ways;
- The fact that they are non biodegradable makes them hard to dispose and as a result, they can act as breeding places for many of the disease germs which, sooner than later cause an epidemic in the surrounding people.
- The fact that they are very light also makes it very easy for them to be blown from place to place and as a result, the unending littering of the environment.
- These polythene bags have over time been proven to be environmentally unfriendly considering the time taken for their decomposition. As a result of this time spun they can cause further problems like blocking water penetration into the soil which in turn affects food growth and development.
As an alternative of having to suffer the unending plight of environmental down fall, we would suggest that an alternative means of packaging materials should be encouraged and as such the use of polythene bags should be banned.
Polythenes are therefore the most outstanding of all the waste in the homes of most Indians and are hard to dispose off. They affect the environment in a number of ways with some very adverse effects.
Due to the careless disposal of the polythene in the country, the areas where they have been deposited in large quantities have lost soil fertility. This is mainly because they cannot rot and decompose and therefore cannot lead to the formation of good soils. The polythene bags have also got an acidic combination which with time disturbs the chemical formulas of the soils.
The poor disposal of the polythene bags can also lead to the spread of diseases. This is because the polythene bags can easily block the the sewerage and water pies which can eventually lead to the spread of the Diseases. They cannot also cause water logging since the water cannot percolate through them and this can be a good breeding ground for some of the vectors which spread diseases.
Unneccessary littering of the polythene bags on the roadsides destroys the beautiful scenary. If they are carelessly thrown all over the place, they make the environment very untidy and unpleasant to look at. This is the case in some parts of the city.
The polythene bags cannot allow the water to pass so easily. As a result the soil is not well earatedand this is because they are non-biodegradable and water cannot easily percolate through them.
Death of domestic animals specially the cows and the goats after eating the polythene bags. This clearly show that waste if mismanaged can be very dangerous to the environment.
Emphasis should be put on the use of paper bags. This is because the paperbags are also light and they can easily decompose. They should therefore act as the subsitute for the polythene bags . The industries should also be encouraged to recycle the polythene bags.
Education of the masses on the proper disposal of the polythene waste. The masses should be sensitized about the dangers of the improper disposal of the polythene bags.
Burningof the plythene bags using the incenerators at very high temperatures. This should mainly be done for the case of the polythene bags which were deposited so many years ago and have not decomposed up to now.
Laws and legislations should be put in place regarding the improper poythene waste disposal. The people who are seen throwing away the polythene bags careless while moving should be penalised and this should be done by lobbying the parliament to pass these laws. In some cases the use of polythene bags should be banned especially where they have been mismanaged.
Local Action projects should be emphasised by the students whereby the students move to the neighbouring communities to have them cleaned up and also carry out the seminars to sensitise the masses about the dangers of improper waste disposal.

Afforestation

Forests are the natural wealth of a country. we have been cutting trees freely for fuel, wood and other needs. As a result of it beautiful hill station like Mussorie, Dehradun have been robbed of their atraction. The contractor's axe and human greed are destroying our forests. Pressure of population, urbanization, need for more land for agriculture, railways and roadways has caused great deforestation.
Experts have introduced new ideas like high-yielding forestry. Our forests can survive if forestry look to this goal of national development . New forests should be planted .Where there is space in old forests , new trees can be planted.Forest college should open their doors to students from all fields of life .
Afforestation must be one of our main aims. It is the duty of the government and the people to preserve the forest wealth. Our government has started the festival of VAN- MAHOTSAVA or the FOREST FESTIVAL. Its really very nice.
